Came out the class

Butterfly Recycle-Made

Here is a simple idea to make a Butterfly from recycle stuffs. It’s easy and children between 3 to 4 years old surely can do it, of course with our assistance. My children in Nursery class which are 3 to 4 years old can made it with minimum help from me.

What do we need?
The materials needed are:
1 tissue roll/toilet roll
1 stick (ice cream stick)
Butterfly outline on paper (you can make it by yourself. You just need to draw an outline of butterfly on a paper, or search it on Mr. Google and then print out in A3 size)
2 googlie eyes
Pipe cleaner (about 10 cm length)
Tempera paint

And the tools needed are:
Scissor, paint brush, glue.

How to make it?
1.    Fold the outline of your butterfly into two. Make sure that you fold it in the middle and each side has same size. After that, paint it using tempera paint and small brush but only on one side. Then fold on the other side, so you’ll have paint refraction on the blank side. Open the folding again and let it dried.
2.    Take your toilet roll. If you want to, you can paint it too for the body of your butterfly. When it dried, glue the one-third stick into the toilet roll (use strong glue which can glue wood).
3.    Put the glue on the middle folding of your painted butterfly. Then paste it on your toilet roll. Let it dry in 5 minutes.
4.    Paste a pair of googlie eyes on the head of your butterfly. And make your antenna from small size pipe cleaner. Fold your pipe cleaner into two (same size, in the form like ‘V’) and then stick it behind the head of your butterfly. Make sure that you use strong glue which can glue fabric material but it still safe for children.
5.    Your Butterfly ready to be hanged on your window, or to be played on your garden.

Song about Butterfly:
Fly , fly, fly the butterfly. In the meadow, it’s flying high. In the garden, it’s flying low…
Fly, fly, fly the butterfly.
